Mequon residents have access to a disposal site for used motor oil and filters at the Department of Public Works (DPW) site at 10800 Industrial Drive. The disposal site is accessible year-round during daylight hours. To find the "Oil Recycling" area, use the South Driveway to enter the DPW grounds. Drive behind the gas pump area and look for the storage building marked with a green sign that says, "Oil Recycling."
The side entrance into the storage building has a staircase leading to the disposal area. Pour the used oils into a bucket and dispose of empty oil containers and used oil filters using the chute.
The Oil Recycling area is open anytime, unless the tank is full. That will be indicated with a "Closed-Tank Full" sign.
