The Annual Taste of Mequon will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, from Noon - 9 p.m. Taste of Mequon was first conceptualized in 2013 as a way to spotlight community restaurants, artists and entertainers while bringing residents and business owners together to showcase all the elements that make Mequon a terrific place to call home. Taste of Mequon is held annually on the second Saturday of September in the closed streets in front of City Hall and the Frank L. Weyenberg Library on North Cedarburg Road.

Taste of Mequon has grown every year and on average has 12,000-15,000 attendees. Event participants can enjoy the taste of scrumptious food prepared by local restaurants, sit back and listen to sounds of local entertainers, visit with family, friends and neighbors, stroll from booth to booth to appreciate the artwork crafted by local artists. There are also activities geared just for children.

Apply to be a part of the 2026 Taste of Mequon using the "Supporting Documents" below.

PAST EVENTS

Free Movie Night in Rennicke Field held on Friday, June 26, 2026. The Festivals Committee held a family movie on the baseball field behind City Hall. Families were able to bring chairs, blankets, snacks and drinks sit in the outfield and watch the PG-rated movie, "Hoppers!" that evening. Free popcorn, ice cream and cotton candy were available to all. About 200 people attended the event.

Winter Wonderland held on December 7, 2025. The City of Mequon welcomed families, neighbors and visitors to its annual Winter Wonderland Festival on Sunday, December 7, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in front of Mequon City Hall on Cedarburg Road. Winter Wonderland is a cherished community tradition — a time for Mequon to come together and celebrate the simple joys of the season. From the glow of twinkling lights and crackling fire pits to the sound of carolers and the laughter of children awaiting Santa’s arrival, the evening created memories to last all winter long. To view photos from the event, check out the Slideshow shared below. Thank you to event sponsors Hawkins Ash CPAs, Junior Women MT, Concordia University, Annex Wealth Management, Sommers Automotive, Port Washington State Bank, Town Bank, Mathnasium,  Kiddie Academy and the City of Mequon. Thanks also to the Fire Department "elves", Mequon Police and Auxillary Units, Mequon Department of Public Works and the volunteers and choirs that helped make Winter Wonderland a memorable event.

Redbud Festival held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from Noon - 5:00 p.m. This even was first launched as an art and garden festival in 2025 and was planned for when the redbud trees would be in full bloom. The Mequon Festivals Committee identified this third event to highlight the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club’s Redbud Project which began in 2011. The vision of the Project is to cultivate springtime beauty along the Riverwalk and throughout the Town Center to draw local citizens and visitors alike to enjoy community amenities and the Riverwalk.

A one-of-a-kind Mequon Map and Tote were created for Redbud in May 2025. Find more information here.
