The Mequon Festivals Committee was created by Mequon’s Common Council to create, plan, and coordinate special events within the City, with an emphasis on utilizing the Mequon City Hall/Town Center Civic Plaza. In May, 2013, Mayor Dan Abendroth appointed seven Mequon citizens to the Mequon Festivals Committee. At the committee’s meeting on July 1, 2013, the decision was made to plan an inaugural event, Taste of Mequon.
Mission
The mission of the Festivals Committee is to organize family-friendly events for the enjoyment of the community, spotlight the city’s fine qualities, and strengthen community involvement and spirit.
Purpose
The committee shall create, plan, promote and coordinate special events within the city, including gatherings that bring together residents, community groups and businesses to promote neighborliness, civic spirit and a sense of community. The committee shall emphasize use of the city hall/town center civic plaza.
