The Mequon Police Department Auxiliary Unit is made up of dedicated, volunteer, non-sworn civilians who generously support the department in a variety of roles. These unarmed individuals assist with community service functions such as traffic control, event security, and support during emergency situations.
Auxiliary officers receive training from the Mequon Police Department in areas including emergency response, rescue operations, and practical policing techniques.
To be eligible to join the Auxiliary Unit, applicants must:

Reside in the City of Mequon, Village of Thiensville, or a nearby community

Be at least 20 years of age with no negative police contacts

Demonstrate a genuine interest in serving the community
